The number of “units” needed depends on the treatment area and individual muscle strength.

For example, smoothing forehead lines may require 10–20 units, frown lines (the "11s") typically need 15–25 units, and crow’s feet often use 6–12 units per side.

1. Avoid Blood Thinners (24–48 Hours Before)

Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen, fish oil, vitamin E, or alcohol, as these can increase the risk of bruising.

2. Come with a Clean Face

Skip makeup, heavy skincare products, and SPF the day of your appointment. Clean, product-free skin helps reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

3. Pause Retinol & Active Ingredients (2–3 Days Before)

Stop using retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or exfoliants on the treatment area to avoid extra sensitivity.

4. Stay Healthy

If you’re feeling unwell, have a cold sore, skin infection, or are on antibiotics, please reschedule. Your safety is our top priority.

5. Plan Around Events

While downtime is minimal, minor swelling or bruising is possible. Schedule your appointment at least 1–2 weeks before major events or photos.

6. Eat Something Light

Avoid coming on an empty stomach to prevent feeling lightheaded or faint during treatment.

7. Bring Your Questions

1. Stay Upright for 4 Hours

Avoid lying down, bending over, or putting your head below your heart to prevent Botox from migrating.

2. Avoid Touching or Rubbing the Area

Do not massage, press, or apply pressure to the treated areas for at least 24 hours.

3. Skip Strenuous Exercise for 24 Hours

Light walking is okay, but avoid intense workouts, yoga, or anything that causes sweating.

4. Keep It Makeup-Free for the Day

Allow the skin to breathe—avoid applying makeup or skincare products over the treated areas until the next day.

5. Skip Alcohol & Blood Thinners

Continue to avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising.

6. Avoid Heat & Facial Treatments

No saunas, hot tubs, tanning, facials, or steam rooms for 24–48 hours after treatment.

7. Be Patient with Results

Initial effects may begin in 3–5 days, with full results visible at 10–14 days. A follow-up appointment is recommended at two weeks.
