    • Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, alcohol) for 24–48 hours prior to minimize bruising.

    • Stay hydrated and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.

    • If you have a history of cold sores, let your provider know — a preventative antiviral may be recommended.

    DAY OF APPOINTMENT

    • Eat a light meal beforehand and arrive relaxed.

    • Slight swelling or tenderness is normal and temporary.

    • Plan for minimal social events for 24–48 hours while your lips settle.

  • RIGHT AFTER TREATMENT

    • Expect mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising for 24–72 hours.

    • Apply a cool compress (not ice directly on skin) in short intervals to reduce swelling.

    • Keep lips clean and avoid touching or massaging unless directed by your injector.

    FIRST 24 HOURS

    • Avoid makeup on the treated area.

    • Do not drink alcohol, smoke, or engage in strenuous exercise — these increase bruising.

    • Skip saunas, hot tubs, or direct sun exposure.

    FIRST 48-72 HOURS

    • Stay hydrated and sleep with your head slightly elevated to reduce swelling.

    • Avoid facials, dental work, or any pressure on the lips.

    • Do not use straws or bite into firm foods that stretch the lips.

    AFTER ONE WEEK

    • Swelling will subside, and your final results will begin to show.

    • You may gently massage any small lumps if advised by your injector.
